Building Healthy Individuals
GIA Coaching
We strengthen and support WELS educators to serve with passion, energy, and resilience.
Take a more practical approach
to growth and development.
Successful Christian educators and leaders are proactive in their approach to professional development. This includes a systematic approach to self awareness, health and resilience, and learning and development.
We’ve been in your shoes.
We have faced ministry challenges in all shapes and sizes. And by experiencing low points, we learned the importance of spiritual, emotional, and physical health.
Be the best version of yourself in serving God, your family, and others.
You don’t have to sacrifice your health and personal relationships for a successful ministry. Building resilience, establishing margin, and having a plan will lead to ministry enjoyment, effectiveness, and longevity.
What is coaching?
The word “coaching” has its origins in the 1500’s. It is derived from the Hungarian word “kocsi,” referring to a type of horse-drawn carriage named after the village of Kocs, Hungary, where it was first made. It was a larger and more comfortable carriage that quickly caught on throughout Europe. Around 1830, tutors at Oxford University “coached” students in preparation for exams. Over time, “coaching” has metaphorically extended to guiding someone from one point in their personal or professional life to another.

How much time
do I need to invest?
Like anything in life, you will get out of this what you put into it. In general, you should plan for 3-4 hours each month. This includes cohort Zoom meetings, individual coaching calls, and homework.
What is my financial commitment?
Programs range in price. But participants can use Title II funds, continuing education funds, and personal funds. We also offer financial assistance when needed.
How quickly will
I experience results?
You can expect to see outcomes and results in one or two months. But many individuals find benefit after the first session. We work to make content practical and coaching sessions impactful. You are the hero and we are the guide.
What Participants are Saying
“The Leadership Cohort gave me an opportunity to reflect on where I was in all roles of my life – as a father, husband, teacher and leader. The time spent with other WELS leaders was invaluable in building my capabilities as a school administrator.”– Nate Kallies, Principal at St. Croix Lutheran High School, West Saint Paul, MN “The Leadership Cohort is a great way to connect with fellow leaders in WELS education. I felt encouraged and supported during my time with the cohort and left with tools and resources to build up my spiritual, emotional, and physical health – which are the foundation of a healthy ministry.”
– Paul Ihde, Principal at Grace Lutheran School, Oshkosh, WI “Being a part of a Lead Team was a tremendous encouragement and blessing. The topics we covered were directly applicable to my ministry, and I walked away equipped with new tools and a clearer mindset to effectively lead the people I’m blessed to serve and serve with.”
– Joel Lauber, Principal at Good Shepherd Lutheran School, Omaha, NE “The need for leaders in WELS schools is great. This is a great way to be mentored by a Christian leader where you can grow as a leader and use what you’ve learned to impact people in your school, congregation, and community.”
– Justin Danell, Principal at St. Peter Lutheran School, Freedom, WI
